Shipping Manager with experience in operational ship management as Operation Officer/Operations Manager (m/f/d)

Your tasks:

  • Representation of the company towards charterers, pools, brokers and agents
  • First contact person for charterers, pool managers and agents for the cargo voyages to be carried out
  • Monitoring/compliance with charter and pool contracts for the fleet to be managed
  • Monitoring and analysis of voyage results and efficiency of the vessels in operation
  • Review and evaluation of the voyage results of the cargo voyages carried out
  • Supporting the commercial department in the negotiation of charter and pool contracts
  • Maintaining, monitoring and administering the required cargo documents for updating and administering the voyage documentation in the databases and document management system
  • Monitoring and processing of the services provided by the port agency following port calls
  • Pre- and de-briefing of Master and C/O, depending on commercial requirements
  • Coordination of HRA voyage segments with regard to wartime/IVL/K&R/LOHP trade lanes from an operational point of view

Your profile:

  • Successfully completed apprenticeship as a shipping clerk or equivalent, relevant professional experience in shipping-related professional field
  • A degree in maritime studies is an advantage, ideally with border experience or seagoing experience
  • Several years of experience in the field of operations
  • Very good knowledge of German and English (written and spoken)
  • Analytical thinking and the ability to work systematically
  • You like to take on more responsibility and new challenges in the future
  • Strong self-motivation, communication skills, flexibility and the ability to work under pressure
  • Good IT and MS Office skills are a prerequisite
  • Very good communication skills

Technical Superintendent (m/f/d)

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Technical Superintendent is the main link between the office and the vessel in respect of any technical matters.

The duties include but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring the state of maintenance of the assigned vessels.
  • Supervision and following-up of shipboard activities.
  • Preparing and supervising maintenance schedules in close cooperation with the ship’s command.
  • Monitoring and assisting with the procurement and landing of goods for the assigned vessels.
  • Arranging for repairs and technical services,
  • Liaison with class, flag and port state authorities,
  • Participation at projects and development of technical solutions.
  • Preparation, on-site supervision and follow-up of vessel dry docks and similar repairs.
  • Regular vessel inspection visits and on-site representation of the company.
  • Dry-Docking preparations and execution
  • Assuring the vessel’s operational capability in all technical aspects
  • Reporting any kind of disturbances and non-compliances within the organization
  • Rectification of disturbances and non-compliances.
  • Compliance with relevant statutory rules and regulations and industry requirements.
  • Annual Budget planning and continuous OPEX budget control for the assigned vessels

Qualification & Experience:

  • Fluent high proficiency in English (written and orally)
  • Graduated as marine engineer, or licensed chief engineer, or
  • Graduated mechanical engineer with substantial technical knowledge, with proven work experience     of min. 5 years in a similar position,
  • Preferable experience as chief or second engineer
  • cot awareness and commercial experience
  • Team player

Financial Accountant / Accountant (f/m/d)

Your responsibilities:

  • Responsibility for the classical tasks of financial accounting and for the profit and loss account for a delimited, own group of companies.
  • Independent processing of the current accounting of several companies (KG/GmbH) with business transactions in Euro and foreign currency (incoming and outgoing invoices, bank postings, payment transactions)
  • Independent preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements for subsequent submission to auditors and tax consultants
  • Carrying out intercompany clearing and
    -reconciliations and ongoing account maintenance
  • Checking and processing data from external service providers
  • Preparation of ongoing advance VAT returns (VAT entity) as well as statistics and statutory reports

Your profile:

  • A completed commercial vocational training as a company or financial accountant (f/m/d)
  • Experience in the shipping industry is desirable but not a prerequisite
  • An open-minded personality with strong communication skills
  • Professional experience in financial accounting, preferably in the processing of limited partnerships
  • Professional knowledge, very good IT- and MS-Office skills as well as good English skills
  • Experience in the accounting software Microsoft Dynamics Navision or Fibu Net is an advantage
  • Independent, conscientious and structured way of working as well as ability to work in a team
